It makes a noise for a sensitive ear, it's not exaggerated, but I made a good choice by buying it with the sensor so that it doesn't work continuously and only when they get close.
I think that for people with sensitivity, that is the solution. I have another fountain without a jet; for example, that one is completely imperceptible and works continuously.
So, if you want a fountain with a tap and have a keen ear, the sensor to activate it is absolutely essential. I wouldn't leave it behind and I recommend it that way.
Something that does seem strange to me is that the cable connection is in the filter inside the water, but well, if things are handled correctly there shouldn't be any problem with that.
